Our screening process

At SuperiorSitters we understand how difficult it may be for parents to leave their precious child/children with a stranger for the first time which is why we only accept the very best childcare professionals to join our amazing team.

Each sitter will need to complete an application form which will inquire about their skills, experience and knowledge. We will then assess the information that has been provided and if it meets our criteria we will carry out a face to face interview. This opportunity allows us to meet the individual and to ensure they are professional, trustworthy and a good candidate for our amazing team.

During the interview stage we ask each individual to provide a minimum of two professional childcare references. Each reference is checked rigorously and the referees are also contacted. Every sitter must have a DBS before we register them at SuperiorSitters if a sitter comes to us without one, they must apply for one as a requirement to be considered.

Although it is not a compulsory requirement at SuperiorSitters; all our sitters have childcare qualifications which is a huge plus for our parents. What we do ask however, is that all our sitters have had a minimum of 3 years prior experience working with children and also in family homes. We are privileged as majority of our sitters are teachers, nursery nurses, nannies, childminders, teaching assistants so this role in this environment comes very natural to them.

Registration usually takes a couple of weeks and if the above requirements are met we then start the process of registering the successful sitter.
